WHAT IS LOVE?
I'm sitting at work with the earphones on today (as usual) and Vivian Green's 'What Is Love' shuffles on the nano. So, while listening to the lyrics, my inquisitive, analytical nature sprang forth. What exactly IS love? Of course it's an emotion. But is it the type of emotion that is definitive...meaning...is love just a notion or novelty that wears off after a certain amount of time? Is it all encompassing? Does it rules your senses/actions as does the moon to the ocean? Is love a cop out...?

Love, in my own words, is a passionate feeling that you feel towards another person which can make you do unusual things. This crazy word can cause to do battles with people and may cause some stress, but at the same time can cause eternal happiness. People on a day-to-day basis are always looking for their true soulmate. Hearts are sometimes broken, but to me it just means that God has open a door for a much better opportunity.

Trav dahling...i love (ironic i know) this post. I've been trying to figure out what love is for the longest time. I think its an emotion. Something that kicks in our spirit, heart, body, soul...every part of us. I think it effects everything we do. from the looks we give, the way we talk, the way we act. it changes, hopefully for the better. but I personally believe its an emotion that if its not nurtured properly, can very well fade away with time. I've experienced that. People say you can't fall out of love but i disagree. I feel like u can...ur emotions shift...u no longer "love" the person the way u once did. whether it was anger, or any other issue that got in between ur love, I believe u affection can shift from love to care.
I strongly believe that love is blind. its power is not to be toyed with. People do crazy things when they are in love. it's almost like love is an emotional drug that once addicted is hard to break but not impossible. anyway...i cud go on and on trying to get everything out on what i think "love" is but i'll leave it there.
PS - one day u gone be listenin to ms. apple and u ain't gone hear that fire alarm...smdh...lol

Love is not an action, It is a moment, made of many moments. It's heart wrenching, air gasping, devastating yet so beautiful and strikes our curiosity. Love does envy it has jealous tendency's, it most certainly boasts. It can bring you up from the lowest points of despair and can bring you straight back down. It is not simply 'I love you', it is the actions implied, it is forever and for always, it is a moment in time made of many moments in time, it is a life time gift passed on through the generations, it is one true and honest aspect of humanity. Love is that needing, wanting, fulfillment and passion in life that makes a person whole.
Most of all Love is sometimes taken for granted and used in vain instead of appreciating it when you are Blessed to receive it!

Love is apart of nature. It is so many things!Something every human being is capable of. Yes, agreed it is not an action, but springs you in to action. Love will turn a boy in to a man and a baby into a women. It can be the simplest gesture or a severe repercussion, a child's smile or putting your all on the line, but most importantly it is from the heart. Most people get love confused with other things such as lust, misuse, abuse, and/or gain the list goes on and on. Love can never be cloned, and despite what most of us think love is, our true test is yet to come.

In my most honest-est opinion
Since I'm surrounded by love in my personal life right now... to me, God is love, Love is life.
whether its from Family, Friends, a lover, Co-workers or random people on the street
I have several relationships that have to do with love right now.
My friends- who call, text, email, come to whereever I am CONSTANTLY even when I don't want them to, just to say "hi", "hello" , "how are you?" " I love the outfit you got on where'd you get it?" & even "nuh-uh....take that shit off and burn it you know better than to wear that especially in public".
My people & I take care of EACH OTHER, when we don't feel up to par,,,someone is always there to call on, or comeover and say something like " GETCHO ASS UP OUT THAT BED! take a bath, put on some cute clothes and lets go somewhere!"
My lover-who is my "love and romatical advocate"...lol We've had our ups and downs but at the end of the day, when we talked things out , somehow we always get back to the point where we first met. Like my friends my boyfriend and I take care of each other, whether its emotionally, if we need a good laugh or even the times I've helped him pay his rent..& not to mention MY bills...lawd. & Even though we LEGALLY can't get married, whats more important is the fact that we love each other in the deepest way and the way we treat each other.I dont consider him my better half, more like my equal.
My CO-workers...yes these people too! We have moments, but we're like a family. I'm the "tinkerbell" of the office as some people say. I cherish the moments we have, whether its a potluck or me bringing in my flat iron to do my boss's hair!
RANDOM PEOPLE- can be sometimes the most entertaining , because when you see someone for the first time its like looking in a window into their world, whether its how they dress, interact or do the smallest things.
FRIDAY NIGHT I was at IHOP with my friends & this lady came up to me and told me I had a pretty smile (we were looking & laughing at people coming in from the clubs drunk). I smiled and of course said 'thanks" & she even gave me a hug!
You can do ANYTHING to bring love to you, but the most important thing is to love yourself....when you have LOVE running through your body it can NOT be hidden! & I've been fortunate enough to have the greatest people in my life, but most of all...GOD has given me such good things, happy moments & beautiful people to love every part of me. I have reason to smile, a reason to cry tears of joy at church on sunday mornings. & that is because I have not just a regular love but GREAT love in my life! & when you have that love for yourself a gift from God, that cycle can not be broken, Gifts from God outshine gifts from man.
Just because someone's life isn't full of love, doesn't mean you won't have it. If you believe IN love it will always be there.

To me L0VE is an uncontrollable emotion that can consume you mind, heart, body and soul. It is the best/worst feeling that you can have. I think that the value of love has been diminished over time due to people using it in excess to get what they want. Love is beautiful and blind to common sense. It is very much real and if one allows their hearts to be open then they can and will experience it.

Love is more than an emotion that you feel for someone. It's patient, kind & selfish all at the same time. Love comes around when it wants to and leaves after giving all it has to give. Love is never lonely, it's always parties with a crowd of "three " consisting of you, another person and it'self! Love have no limits and knows no rules. Love is fearless... and undescriptive.....(wait! I just described it)...
